Support Services

All in This Together

We experience the impacts of today’s realities in different ways. There are programs and services at the University of Florida set-up to help you not only today… but every day.

Please review the services below and connect to the assistance that you may need. Don’t know where to start? Connect with support staff by emailing umatter@ufl.edu.

Mental Health Counseling

The Counseling and Wellness Center has adjusted support to provide online therapy for students in order to practice social distancing. Students experiencing an urgent mental health need still have access to on-call counselors and overnight/weekend emergency phone-support service remains available.

For access to all services call (352) 392-1575.

Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry

The Hitchcock Pantry is a resource on the University of Florida campus committed to supporting students, staff, and faculty who are experiencing food insecurity. The Hitchcock Panty offers non-perishable food, toiletries and fresh produce grown at the Field and Fork Gardens. There is no proof of need required in order to utilize the Pantry; you only need a valid UF ID card.

For the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Hitchcock Pantry has instituted special procedures and operating hours to ensure that the Pantry can continue to service the UF community.

Aid-A-Gator

The University of Florida’s Aid-a-Gator program provides funding to students experiencing unanticipated expenses due to an emergency situation. This financial assistance is intended as a funding bridge for UF students to cover education-related expenses. Funds from Aid-a-Gator are intended to be a grant, not a loan, to help our students in need to cover costs related to unanticipated travel, additional technology requirements, or other needs related to an emergency situation.

Student Legal Services

Student Legal Services (SLS) is staffed by four licensed attorneys who are available to offer UF students free and confidential assistance concerning many legal matters. SLS is also able to offer counsel and assist students with landlord tenant issues and off-campus leases. Email sls@ufsa.ufl.edu or call (352) 392-5297 to set up an appointment with an attorney to discuss your options.

First-Generation Support Network

Staff from the First-Generation Success Team are standing by to assist with any current and/or new students who identify as first-generation. The team is available to assist in navigating online learning platforms, connecting with financial resources, as well as fostering an engaging community.
