Join the the Disability Resource Center’s DAP: Disability Allyship Program. The DRC aims to address barriers and facilitate an inclusive experience for UF students with disabilities. While some physical barriers are more easily identified, the most difficult barriers to address are attitudinal and deeply held beliefs. This training will help participants gain an understanding on how society shapes our ideas and beliefs about disability and how we can challenge deficit thinking.

We will explore disability as a framework and a lived experience. We will review the history of disability and how ideas about disability have shifted throughout the years. Our goal is for students to re-frame how society views disability and celebrate disability diversity. Through this training, we hope UF students will become active allies who advocate for disability inclusion within their classrooms, organizations, campus life, and communities.

This workshop is being held on Zoom and requires pre-registration.
