Join Florida Alternative Break for one of two service opportunities available to help you recharge by serving the Gainesville community.

Habitat for Humanity
8:30am – 2:30pm
Volunteers will be working with Habitat for Humanity Staff to construct and beautify homes in Gainesville. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities.

YMCA
10am – 3pm
Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with Gainesville youth as part of the YMCA’s after school program. They will also assist the Y with beautification tasks around the facility. The YMCA works to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race, or sexual orientation, has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity.
